< LYRICS > lychee, will you open your arms tonight? lychee, will you hold me tonight, tonight? your eyes are the color of the pictures i paint clear the pathway to my house we can stay awake all night and gaze at the city lights oh my this parking lot is beautiful when you're here my dear and to the blizzard that swept you off your feet: please return her to me all the salty snowbanks crumbling with your falling tears you can follow the northern lights back to my bed, there's no place you'll ever rest the same lychee, will you open your arms tonight? lychee, will you hold me tonight, tonight? your eyes are the color of the pictures i paint clear the pathway to my house we can stay awake all night and gaze at the moonlit sky oh my baby (maybe) is the day when you will fall for me ( x4 ) lychee, will you open your arms tonight? lychee, will you hold me tonight, tonight? (instrumental) lychee, will you love me the same way i do? < EXPLANATION > "lychee, will you open your arms tonight? lychee, will you hold me tonight?" basically meaning will you welcome the feelings you're feeling, will you love me tonight "your eyes are the color of the pictures i paint" the pictures i paint meaning the things i imagine of us, and her eyes being the color of them basically means that i see you think of it too "clear the pathway to my house" come over and spend the night with me for once "we can stay awake all night and gaze at the city lights" she lives by nyc and u can see the city lights from her room and its really nice and pretty and i enjoyed the last time we spent together looking at them in the guest bedroom "this parking lot is beautiful when you're here, my dear" basically meaning a parking lot isn't really that too good looking, but when you're here that all changes and it becomes priceless art pretty much, you are the one that makes life so pretty "and to the blizzard that swept you off your feet: please return her to me" the blizzard being depression and the negative thoughts, in which it swept you off your feet and made you feel this way, please return her to me "all the salty snowbanks crumbling with your falling tears" you cry so much, you're so sad and even the toughest snowbanks crumble with the impact "you can follow the northern lights back to my bed, there's no place you'll ever rest the same" pretty much self explanatory "we can stay awake all night and gaze at the moonlit sky oh my" she lives by the city i live far away from it, here at my house its more open area and so while in the beginning i said "city lights", meaning being at her house, and "moonlit sky" being at my house. i added that to signify that wherever we're at there is always time and always a place for her with me "baby today is the day you will for me" initially i added "and i'll weep" meaning i'd be so happy because of it, but i couldnt find any way to fit it in with the melody so just pretend its there "lychee, will you love me the same way i do?" self explanatory, i feel like i love u so much more and i want to know if im worth the time of day to you, and if you would love me the same p.s. this isnt me self-victimizing myself and gathering a pity party if ur reading this lychee, u know i respect ur feelings and decisions
